Another successful tea!
We had a wonderful tea on December 2, 2009! Once again our tea and treats was provided by Sisters Tea Parlor in Buckner, Kentucky and they didn't disappoint us! It was very yummy. Our guest speaker was Ginny Brown and she presented: "A Cup of Tea Spirituality for Christmas". We all enjoy our tea, (coffee, hot chocolate, etc), and we like to "savor the moment". We need to remember to "savor the moment" all the time--especially at Christmas when life can be a whirlwind. And finally, we were entertained by the most wonderful Lisa Spurlock on her harp--so relaxing, yet festive! And the women of SMM came through again giving a lot of donations of toiletries to St. Joseph. Stay tuned--we have a lot going on this winter! Please remember if you'd like to get involved in Women's Ministry, please contact Carrie Williamson in the Parish office at 426.1588, x. 190 or email me at cwilliamson@stmm.org.

"Emptying Your Cup" Retreat
"Emptying Your Cup" Women's Retreat
Twenty-eight women brought empty mugs and cups to a May 13th retreat at St. Margaret Mary. The retreat was sponsored by Women’s Ministry and presented by Bonnie Chester, Lisa Stumler and Mistianna Barnes. During the three hour evening retreat, after a delicious dinner was served, the women's cups were filled to symbolize the positive blessings and love we accept from God. Reflective journals were filled out and discussions, prayers and songs followed. Later the cups were emptied, symbolizing the "letting go" by the women of the negatives in their lives. The women were uplifted and energized with fellowship and the love of God.

SMM Women's Ministry Advent Tea
The Women's Ministry Advent Tea 2008 was a smashing success! We enjoyed a wonderful evening of delicious teas and sweets from Sisters Tea Parlor. Lisa Spurlock provided Christmas music on her harp which added another special touch. Our presenter for the evening was M. Annette Turner, Executive Director of the Archdiocese of Louisville Office of Multicultural Ministries. Mrs. Turner talked about the beauty of Christmas traditions. We hope that everyone who attended will remember how traditions--not the money spent on gifts--will be what our families carry in their Christmas memories. An unbelievable amount of toiletries were collected to take to St. Joseph's. They will be used by children who enter programming there. Please note the new Advent Tea Slideshow. You can see that a great evening was had by all. Finally, many thanks to the women of the SMM Women's Ministry "Tea Board" who helped put on this fabulous event: Angela Springer, Lisa Stumler, Bonnie Chester, Laura Siemens and Bev Wilson.
Please stay tuned to the bulletin for the next upcoming Women's Ministry event--the six week Bible Study, "Becoming A Praying Person".
